Do you think one of his sponsors will buy him a tooth?

Nah that'd be a bad investment. He's probably lose it in a week being the rider that he is.

I gotta ask a lame question. I'm building a jump line on my property - it is incredibly difficult to find solid information on the right radius for a proper DJ ramp like this. Any chance you know the radius of the ramp in the vid?

flag viccityburner (Jan 29, 2012 at 18:08)
take the height of the lip and multiply that number by two and theres your radius. but dont go any lower than 10.5 feet

My lips turn out completley fine you just have to draw it right

12-15 feet generally... you can always change the height to make a long&low or keep it high to boost... the key #'s are radius and take-off angle (rather than height).

are people not capable of judging a transition with their eyes?

If it's wood, the first comment is right. If it's dirt, don't measure or anything, just build it

Generally eye balling a curve hasn't worked for anyone ive seen.; Going in with a plan seems to be best. Radius being twice the height is just for trick jumps too. For sets we usually have mellower ones. usually about 15 foot radius's but these aren't small jumps

Mine has worked completley fine, I don't see why people can't judge with their eyes not hard

Last thing ill say in this dumb discussion. Maybe you did pull a perfect radius out of your ass. Doubtful someone on pinkbike asking whats a good radius could do that first try on a wood lip.
